2019 ACT National Work Plan

Chapters & Councils

  • Increase membership value by working with chapters to develop and implement programming focused on networking, professional development, and local advocacy.
  • Increase membership value by working with councils to serve as a driving force of ACT’s mission and serve as a natural convener of members within specific interest areas.
  • Ensure all chapter and council leadership positions are filled and that they are operating effectively.
  • Chapters and Councils are implementing their approved work plans in a timely fashion.

 

Board of Directors

  • ACT’s Board is functioning at a high level and is well prepared to provide strategic leadership and direction for the association.
  • Clear strategy for present and future activities of the association.
  • Successfully launch new committee structure to provide and expand leadership opportunities and career long involvement.
  • Ensure that the association’s management is operating as desired.
  • Ensure the association is implementing its work plan and achieving its desired goals.
  • Oversee the fiduciary responsibility of the association.

 

Membership

  • Grow ACT’s membership while increasing representation of major economic sectors and industry drivers.
  • Promote the activities of ACT members to strengthen the sense of community.
  • ACT members are reporting high levels of value received from their membership in ACT.

 

Public Policy & Advocacy

  • Strengthen member understanding of ACT’s policy agenda.
  • Educate public officials on the benefits of implementing and supporting TDM strategies and policies.
  • Increase member capacity to be successful advocates for ACT’s policy agenda.
  • Raise the visibility of ACT as the go to organization for commuting information and opinions by public officials, researchers, and media.

 

Marketing & Communications

  • Increase membership value and knowledge of ACT activities through member focused communications.
  • Increase ACT’s profile as the premier TDM organization through external communications.
  • Increase the use of ACT’s website.
  • Expand ACT’s presence on social media.
  • Grow ACT’s followers and friends on social media.

 

Conferences & Events

  • Conferences, summits, and forums are positively reviewed by attendees and increase the value of ACT membership.
  • ACT conferences & events see growth in attendance and revenues.
  • A diverse mix of learning opportunities are provided throughout the year.
  • All members have an opportunity to participate in ACT national conferences & events.

 

Programs

  • Support the holistic growth of members through expanded professional development programming.
  • All programs are hitting their desired attendance and participation goals.
  • Programs are viewed positively as a value add of membership.
  • Recognize the leadership and excellence of TDM professionals and organizations.

 

TDM Certification

  • Establish a motivated and active Board of Trustees.
  • Develop and launch TDM Professional Certification program.
  • Establish program policies, procedures, and brand.

 

Center for TDM

  • Finalize IRS recognition of Center for TDM.
  • Establish ACT as an originator of research and compiler/discriminator of information.
  • Establish strategic partnerships to build support of the Center.

 

Administration & Finance

  • Develop a vibrant and growing organization.
  • Ensure the association is financially stable by securing budgeted revenues and controlling expenses.
  • Increase revenues from membership, registration, and sponsorship.
